The band were pleased to welcome Stuart and wife Muriel to their rehearsal. After Stuart conducted the band in a rendition of 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square' and 'Big Band Explosion' a speech was given by former Bandmaster Matt Booth reflecting on some of the successes the band had experienced since Stuart's appointment in November 2002. Stuart was then presented with tickets to a choral recital and a book of photographs selected and signed by the band whilst Muriel was presented with a flower arrangement.

It is with great sadness that we say farewell to Stuart and we wish him every success in his future music makings.

The band would also like to extend it's gratitude to member Garry Ambrose who has been conducting over the summer. His hard work and dedication have ensured the success of our summer season.

Auditions for the new Musical Director have now been completed and an announcement will be made in due course.

The photograph below shows Stuart being presented his gifts by Steve Cook, Treasurer (right) and Matt Booth (centre).
