Nick Doolan - Bb Bass PDF Print E-mail
After a brief and unsuccessful flirtation with the guitar, Nick started playing on the cornet at age 10, but graduated to a lower instrument after a shortage of low brass in the brass, wind bands and orchestra of his school, Roundwood Park in Harpenden, Herts.

He spent much of the next seven years developing his playing under his brass teacher, the late Kenneth Parker, a trombonist. After leaving school, Nick played for a short time in the Orchestra of Luton University whilst simultaniously starting to attend St Albans City Band, then in the Fourth Section under well known conductor Bill Rumford.

Nick currently works in the transport industry, in a rapidly developing independent bus company in Dunstable, Beds.

In January 2006 following Len Smith's retirement from playing, Nick moved on to Bb Bass to act as Martin Collett's 'better half'! He is also currently the Band's Secretary.
