1st Prize at Leamington Spa Contest PDF Print E-mail
The Band were delighted to take the 1st prize in Section 2 of this Midlands contest on 28th Nov 2004.  Playing Philip Sparke's Kaleidoscope, with which the band had done so well at the Area, St Albans saw off a number of local Midlands bands to secure a noteworthy win and put the seal on a fantastic year.

Our 10 piece opened the Summer season this year by playing for a Fair Trade event in St Albans City Centre on 5th March.  Last year the weather at the beginning of March was idyllic (or so it seems in fond memory) but this year was different.

St Albans City Band gets Wedding Fever PDF Print E-mail

There must be something in the water in Hertfordshire! Two of the Band (Catherine Pierce and Nick Garman) caught the bug last year and tied the knot in March and April 2004 respectively (and not to each other they would like to point out) and now the back-row cornets have caught the bug!

London & Southern Counties Area Contest PDF Print E-mail
After all the its hard work, the band was very disappointed with its low finishing position at Stevenage on 19th March.  We were well below our best on the day and collectively there was perhaps a little too much (misplaced) apprehension at our debut in Section 1.

'Lost' books charting band history rediscovered PDF Print E-mail
After twenty-five years in the care of Hertfordshire Library Service, a number of old minute books have come to light, charting the history of the band from it's origins in 1892, up until post war reconstruction in 1953.
