Sunny weather greets St Albans at St James! PDF Print E-mail
Unlike St James Park in 2005, the sun shone for St Albans City Band under the baton of Garry Ambrose as they entertained the crowds at this pleasent central London venue on the afternoon of Saturday 28th July.
Having been subjected to a washout when St Albans last played St James in 2005, it was pleasent to find that the job was back to normal this year, and the band entertained a large number of both seated listeners and passers by, including an appearence by the infamous 'Dancing Woman' who tested Conductor Garry Ambrose's ability to keep a straight face to the limit!

The band played a varied programmes including several pieces that showcased different sections of the band, including the Eb and Bb bass feature 'Wandrin' Star', the Trombone feature ' I Only Have Eyes for You' and the Cornet feature ' Something Stupid'.

Following the sad loss of nearly all of St Albans' music library in a fire in October 2006, the band have purchased much new music and many of these new items were featured here which allowed the band to put on a very fresh and contemporary programme which was well recieved by the listeners.
