AG_ProfileAndrew joined the band in February 2011 and is currently playing 2nd Cornet.

Originally from East Yorkshire, Andrew's brass band career that spans more than 35 years. He started playing a trumpet at the age of eight and then took up playing a cornet under the tuition of Dixon Laing.

 In 1972 he became a member of a youth brass band called Hessle Youth Band. In 1977 joined his first contesting band, Hessle Royal British Legion, performing on many concert & contest stages throughout the UK, including numerous local radio broadcasts. In 1989 he joined a newly formed East Yorkshire Brass Band and remained with them until 1991 when he moved from the Yorkshire area to live in the South East of England.

In 1992 he joined Borehamwood Brass, moving to Welwyn Garden City Band in 1996, playing with many different bands throughout the area. During  the course of his career he has  toured Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany, Yugoslavia and Switzerland.

Andrew lives in Hertfordshire and is married to his wife Erika whom he met through a twin town connection with Offenburg in Germany.
